BAE Systems in Greenlawn, NY has recently been awarded new programs and is currently undergoing an exciting period of growth. We are actively seeking an Entry Level Software Engineer with a range of skills and a passion for learning new things who can apply their skills to developing high-quality, real-time embedded software for fielded electronics platforms.

Work Format

This role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, adopting a hybrid format with time split between working onsite and remotely. We offer a flexible work environment and a 9/80 work schedule.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or other scientific degree with strong software content.
• Strong problem-solving skills that translate to working, maintainable software.
• Able to obtain a Secret clearance.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• Demonstrated proficiency in a high-level software language such as Java, C++, C, or Python.
• Coursework or other experience in embedded software development.
• Working knowledge of software tools such as Jira, BitBucket, debuggers, containers, etc.
• Experience with Agile Development and DevSecOps.
• Experience developing on Windows/Linux Operating Systems.
• Experience using git or another version control system.
• Familiarity with Unit Testing frameworks.
• Active Secret Clearance.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $69,439 – $118,047

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
