Entry Level Software Engineer

Do you want to design and write software that really matters and be a part of a cause greater than yourself? BAE Systems in Greenlawn, NY has recently been awarded new programs and is currently undergoing an exciting period of growth. We are actively seeking an Entry Level Software Engineer with a range of skills and a passion for learning new things who can apply their skills to developing high-quality, real-time embedded software for fielded electronics platforms.

Work Format

This role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, adopting a hybrid format with time split between working onsite and remotely. We offer a flexible work environment and a 9/80 work schedule.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or other scientific degree with strong software content.
  • Strong problem-solving skills that translate to working, maintainable software.
  • Able to obtain a Secret clearance.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Demonstrated proficiency in a high-level software language such as Java, C++, C, or Python.
  • Coursework or other experience in embedded software development.
  • Working knowledge of software tools such as Jira, BitBucket, debuggers, containers, etc.
  • Experience with Agile Development and DevSecOps.
  • Experience developing on Windows/Linux Operating Systems.
  • Experience using git or another version control system.
  • Familiarity with Unit Testing frameworks.
  • Active Secret Clearance.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $69,439 – $118,047

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
