• Mission: To support the design, development, and sustainment of mechanical hardware components for advanced electronic systems through a unique “Year One” program.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Product Design: Provide Mechanical Engineering support for the design, development, and selection of basic hardware components, including specific packaging modules, mechanisms, or other components. This involves utilizing fundamental mechanical engineering principles, theories, and techniques to meet specified design requirements.
• Mechanical Analyses: Perform basic static, dynamic, and heat transfer analyses of mechanical structures, and compile data for further investigation by senior mechanical engineering personnel. This also involves obtaining a working knowledge of company standard analysis tools.
• Design Verification: Support the fabrication of design hardware and assist in the design and fabrication of prototype hardware. Participate in environmental testing, including vibration, shock, thermal, and fatigue, as required, and document the results for review by senior engineering personnel.
• Documentation: Generate and review the technical content of drawings, engineering specifications, reports, and other documentation associated with mechanical designs. This includes preparing and presenting design review packages for both internal and external audiences.
• Sustainment Support: Provide Mechanical Engineering support to products already in production. This involves managing material issues, performing root cause assessments of discovered problems, and conducting analyses as required to verify the validity of proposed solutions.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early Career Mechanical Engineer holding a Bachelor’s degree (for Mechanical Engineer I) or a Master’s degree (for Mechanical Engineer II) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience: Demonstrated ability to support the design and development of hardware, ensuring compliance with specified requirements.
• Skills: Strong Mechanical Aptitude; ability to read mechanical drawings and perform tolerance assessments; ability to perform basic thermal and dynamic analysis to ensure robust designs.
• Bonus: Good communication skills and strong organizational skills.
