About the Opportunity

Are you a driven student nearing the completion of your science or engineering degree, looking for a hands-on opportunity to apply your knowledge and grow professionally? Terracon is seeking a dedicated Entry-Level Field & Laboratory Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in conducting vital field and laboratory testing of concrete, soil, asphalt, and aggregates, contributing to the integrity and safety of various projects. This position offers a fantastic entry point into the world of materials engineering and consulting, with a clear path for training and increased responsibility.

Essential Roles And Responsibilities

As an Entry-Level Field & Laboratory Technician, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Performing sampling and testing of materials as directed by senior staff and project managers.
Providing essential assistance to experienced field and laboratory personnel on diverse projects.
Transporting critical equipment, specimens, and documents to various locations, including field sites, laboratories, client offices, and other company branches.
Assisting with the physical setup of testing equipment at various locations.
Maintaining a clean and organized work environment by diligently cleaning equipment, vehicles, and work areas.
Supporting other technicians and professional staff with routine tasks and project requirements to ensure smooth operations.
Embracing a progressively increased role in training and responsibility in work assignments, fostering continuous professional development and career advancement within Terracon.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For:

High School Diploma is required.
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s (BS) Degree in a science or related field such as Environmental Science, Safety, Engineering (Civil, Geotechnical, Materials), Chemistry, Biology, or Geology.
Ideal Candidate: Less than one year remaining to complete your BS degree, demonstrating a strong commitment to your academic and professional future.
