The Tone:
This is a contract-to-hire, fully remote role with a growing labor & employment law firm, facilitated by Jobot Consulting. The firm specializes in labor & employment law and is seeking to expand its legal team. This entry-level attorney position is crucial for expanding the firm’s capacity and offers a direct path to a permanent role after three months, providing an excellent opportunity for a newly licensed California attorney to gain valuable experience.

• Mission: This person will provide legal support and counsel, specifically within labor & employment law, during a critical growth phase for the firm.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Legal Support: Provide general legal support to the firm’s growing labor & employment law practice.
• Research: Conduct legal research pertaining to employment law and workers’ compensation cases.
• Case Assistance: Assist with various aspects of legal cases, including those related to workers’ compensation claims.
• Document Drafting: Draft legal documents and correspondence under the supervision of senior attorneys.
• Learn and Apply: Develop expertise in California labor law and legal procedures through direct casework.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. This is an Entry-Level Attorney / First-Year Associate position.
• Experience: Willingness to work on a contract for three months, with the expectation of conversion to a permanent, direct hire role.
• Skills: Active license with the California Bar and residence in California. Demonstrated interest in employment law and/or workers’ compensation.
