Enterprise Risk Management Internship

Program Overview:

This 10-12 week internship offers students a meaningful and relevant work experience within the mutual fund industry.

Key Aspects:

Structured Learning: Interns participate in a series of activities designed to enhance their learning, including:
• Intern New Hire Orientation
• Senior Leadership Speaker Series
• Social & Networking Events
• Presentation Challenges
Full-Time Commitment: Interns work full-time, Monday through Friday, 35-40 hours per week and are paid hourly.
Hybrid Work Environment: MFS offers a hybrid work environment (2 remote days and 3 on-site days).
Eligibility: Internships are open to rising seniors (class of 2026) who are authorized to work in the United States.

About the LCERM Team:

The Legal/Compliance/Enterprise Risk Operations (LCERM) team is responsible for the division’s operations and actively involved in technology and process improvement. The team interacts with various groups across the company and within the different departments of the LCERM division.

Internship Responsibilities:

The intern will assist the LCERM Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team with:

• Implementing risk technology solutions to enhance risk processes.
• Developing materials for risk updates across the enterprise.
• Analyzing existing processes, identifying opportunities for streamlining workflows and improving process controls.
• Reviewing, analyzing and tracking operational risk events to ensure accurate reporting.
• Assisting in various operational areas, including risk control self-assessment reviews, audit controls, and suggesting potential improvements.
• Contributing to a significant project, participating as an active tester in the UAT phase and/or developing documentation and controls.
• Taking on additional responsibilities as requested.

Currently pursuings:

• Proven attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively and efficiently.
• Working knowledge of computer-based programs including MS Teams, and MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
