Job Description: Engineering Summer Internship Program (Summer 2025)

Johnson & Johnson offers an 8-week summer internship program for rising first-year college students who participated in the FIRST Robotics program and are pursuing STEM degrees. This program is designed specifically for students with limited corporate experience, providing a supportive and engaging educational experience.

Program Details:

Target Audience: Rising first-year college students (freshmen) with FIRST Robotics experience pursuing STEM degrees.
Duration: 8 weeks (June 2025 – August 2025, dates may be flexible; some teams may offer extended internships).
Locations: Raritan, NJ; Raynham, MA; Cincinnati, OH; Santa Clara, CA; Jacksonville, FL. Onsite presence is required at least 3 days per week. Some roles offer a one-time housing stipend. Transportation is the intern’s responsibility.
Work Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week), overtime eligible.
Program Benefits: Hands-on experience, coaching and mentoring, networking opportunities, and an engaging educational experience designed to support success in a corporate setting.
Project Focus: Projects designed to improve leadership, analytical, and project management skills. Interns will work across functions (Innovative Medicine, MedTech, and Corporate/Enterprise) in either Supply Chain or Research & Development.
Eligibility: Strong preference for FIRST Robotics participants. Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship needed. Full-time availability for 8 weeks. Enrollment in an accredited college/university Bachelor’s degree program in Engineering, Science, or a related STEM field. Minimum 3.0 GPA. Commutable distance (50 miles or less) to one of the internship sites. Strong analytical and quantitative skills. Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills preferred. Ability to manage multiple projects, solve problems, and demonstrate intellectual curiosity. Self-starter who can work independently and contribute to team goals.
Compensation: Pay rate: $19.00 – $51.50 per hour (based on program year, discipline, degree, and/or experience). Overtime eligible. Potential access to company benefit programs (medical insurance, sick time, holiday pay, retirement plan). This position is ineligible for severance.
