Job Description: Engineering Summer Internship Program (Summer 2025)

Johnson & Johnson offers an 8-week summer internship program for rising first-year college students who participated in the FIRST Robotics program during high school and are pursuing STEM degrees. The program is designed for students with limited corporate experience and provides a structured, supportive learning environment.

Program Details:

Duration: 8 weeks (June 2025 – August 2025, dates may be flexible). Some teams may offer extended internships.
Locations: Raritan, NJ; Raynham, MA; Cincinnati, OH; Santa Clara, CA; and Jacksonville, FL. Onsite presence at least 3 days/week is required; commutable distance is necessary. Some roles offer a one-time housing stipend.
Functions: Internships support either Supply Chain or Research & Development functions.
Experience: Provides hands-on experience, coaching, mentoring, and networking opportunities. The program includes an educational component to support interns in a corporate setting.
Projects: Projects focus on improving leadership, analytical, and project management skills. Interns will work in cross-functional teams across Innovative Medicine, MedTech, and Corporate/Enterprise sectors.
Commitment: Full-time (40 hours/week) availability is required. The position is overtime-eligible. Interns may be eligible for company benefits.
Potential Internship Areas: R&D Engineering, Advanced/Manufacturing Technologies, Supply Chain Planning/Management, Process Engineering, Quality Engineering, and Operations Engineering.

Qualifications:

FIRST Robotics Program Participation (High School): A strong preference is given to candidates with this experience.
Legal Authorization to Work in the U.S.: Sponsorship is not provided.
Full-Time Availability:** 40 hours/week for the 8-week program.
Enrollment in Accredited College/University:** Must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program (Engineering, Science, or related STEM field) by the internship start date. Entering freshman year.
Minimum GPA:** 3.0
Commutable Distance:** Within 50 miles of one of the listed locations.
Skills:** Strong analytical and quantitative skills are required. Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills are preferred. Ability to manage multiple projects, solve problems, demonstrate intellectual curiosity, and achieve success is desired. Self-starter capable of independent work while contributing to team goals. Intention to pursue an engineering degree is preferred. Proven leadership/participation in campus programs or community service is desired.

Compensation:

Pay rate ranges from $19.00 to $51.50 per hour, based on grade level, program year, discipline, degree, and/or experience. The position is overtime-eligible. Interns may be eligible for company benefits.
