Job Description: Engineering Summer Internship Program (Summer 2025)
Johnson & Johnson offers an 8-week summer internship program for rising first-year college students who participated in the FIRST Robotics program during high school and are pursuing a STEM degree. This program is a first-of-its-kind, designed to provide hands-on experience, coaching, mentoring, and networking opportunities to students likely new to corporate environments.
Program Details:
• Duration: 8 weeks (June 2025 – August 2025, dates may be flexible) Some teams may offer extended internships.
• Locations: Raritan, NJ; Raynham, MA; Cincinnati, OH; Santa Clara, CA; and Jacksonville, FL. Onsite presence is required at least 3 days per week. Commutable distance to a site is necessary. A housing stipend may be offered for some roles. Transportation is the intern’s responsibility.
• Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week), overtime eligible.
• Benefits: Potential eligibility for company employee benefit programs (medical insurance, sick time, holiday pay, retirement plan).
• Projects: Interns will work on projects enhancing leadership, analytical, and project management skills. Cross-functional teamwork across Innovative Medicine, MedTech, and Corporate/Enterprise sectors is involved.
• Potential Areas: R&D Engineering, Advanced/Manufacturing Technologies, Supply Chain Planning/Management, Process Engineering, Quality Engineering, and Operations Engineering.
Qualifications:
• FIRST Robotics Participation: Strong preference for candidates with high school FIRST Robotics experience.
• Legal Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Availability: Full-time (40 hours/week) availability for the 8-week program.
• Education: Enrollment in an accredited college/university Bachelor’s degree program (pursuing Engineering, Science, or a related STEM field) by the internship start date. Must be entering freshman year of college.
• GPA: Minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Location: Must live within 50 miles of one of the internship sites.
• Skills: Strong analytical and quantitative skills are required. Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills are preferred. Ability to manage multiple projects, problem-solve, and demonstrate intellectual curiosity is desired. Must be a self-starter who can work independently and contribute to team goals. Proven leadership in campus programs or community service is a plus.
Compensation: Pay rate is $19.00 – $51.50 per hour, based on program year, discipline, degree, and/or experience. Overtime is eligible. The application deadline is anticipated to be 4/8/2025.
