Engineering Research & Development Intern

About the Role

Join an Engineering Research & Development team in a plant-level role focused on ensuring optimal quality food products. This internship offers a hands-on experience in quality control, food safety, and process optimization within a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Job shadow and actively work alongside experienced employees on functional teams, gaining practical insights into daily operations and engineering processes.
  • Contribute to ensuring that plant production processes consistently deliver optimal quality food products that meet customer expectations and industry standards.
  • Support oversight of critical quality control measures, including conducting regular audits and ensuring strict compliance with essential food safety standards such as HACCP and GMP.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited college or university in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, Industrial Engineering, or any other relevant Engineering-related field.
  • Anticipated graduation date must be between December 2026 – May 2027.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships and communicate effectively across all levels of an organization.
  • Must have Legal Authorization to work in the U.S. Please note that sponsorships will not be provided for early career roles, either now or in the future.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • All candidates must be geographically flexible and willing to relocate for this internship opportunity.
  • Proven ability to effectively prioritize and manage different projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability, ideally through academic projects, coursework, or previous experiences.
  • Possess strong technical skills applicable to engineering disciplines and process improvement.
