Job Description
This role is for an Engineering Intern or Co-op at GE Aerospace, potentially within its Unison Industries division. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to the future of flight, focusing on safety and quality in the design, development, and support of aircraft engines for commercial and military applications throughout their service life. Interns/co-ops will work on challenging, real-world problems.
Key Responsibilities & Potential Work Areas:
An intern/co-op at Unison Industries may gain experience across various phases of product development. This includes:
• Electrical/mechanical requirements definition.
• Design and analysis.
• Hardware build.
• Lab testing.
• Product/program support.
• Work with advanced ignition systems, sensors, compact permanent magnet generators, harnesses, engine starters, flexible joints, fluid delivery, and thermal management systems.
Professional Development and Career Path:
Interns and co-ops will have access to mentorship and training programs designed to build professional and technical skills in an engineering role. The program also encourages developing relationships with other interns and leaders, preparing participants for potential full-time positions after graduation, either through leadership programs or direct hire opportunities.
Qualifications/Requirements:
• GPA: Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale (without rounding).
• Education: Must be attending a full-time, matriculated, and nationally accredited baccalaureate or graduate program in engineering. Accepted degrees include Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering/Electrical & Computer Engineering.
• Work Authorization: Willingness and ability to work in the United States. Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required; the company will not sponsor employment visas for this job opening, now or in the future. Access to U.S. export-controlled information is required; final offers for non-U.S. citizens/protected individuals are contingent on obtaining government authorization.
• Location Flexibility: Willingness and ability to work at primary locations, which include Dayton, OH; Jacksonville, FL; Norwich, NY; and St. George, UT.
• Transportation: Reliable transportation is necessary, as many site locations do not have public transportation available.
