Job Description

Job Title: Engineering Intern
Department: Engineering
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Summary:

The Engineering Intern will support manufacturing and operations teams in process improvement, machine cycle time studies, and documentation management. This internship provides hands-on experience in optimizing production processes and maintaining manufacturing documentation.

Responsibilities:

• Support process improvement initiatives, including time studies and cycle time analysis.
• Develop, maintain, and improve manufacturing documentation, such as work instructions and Bills of Materials (BOM).
• Assist in coordinating cross-departmental projects and help implement new manufacturing processes.
• Analyze production data and provide actionable insights to enhance efficiency and safety.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to implement best practices in production and process development.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Attention to detail and organizational ability.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Education and/or Experience:

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Background Prerequisites:

• Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks and controlled substance testing.

Reasoning Ability:

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
