Job Description: Engineering Internship (Summer 2025)
Schreiber Foods is seeking multiple summer engineering interns across its US manufacturing plants. The program offers hands-on experience in a food manufacturing environment, allowing interns to contribute to projects directly impacting operations and success. Interns will work alongside experienced engineers and participate in a comprehensive internship program including executive speaker sessions, social and networking events, and career branding/professional development activities.
The internship offers specialization in several engineering areas:
• Manufacturing Engineering: Focuses on optimizing manufacturing processes, improving efficiency, productivity, process capability, risk management, and cost reduction. Interns will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement efficient workflows.
• Reliability Engineering: Involves implementing strategies to enhance equipment and system reliability and lifespan. This includes interpreting failure data, coordinating initiatives to reduce downtime, and collaborating with maintenance teams on predictive maintenance schedules.
• Controls Engineering: Centers on the design, programming, and testing of automated control systems. Interns will work with PLCs, HMIs, and robotics to improve system performance and collaborate on system integration and optimization projects.
• Process Excellence: Concentrates on continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma methodologies to streamline processes, reduce waste, and enhance productivity.
Qualifications:
• Completed Sophomore-level status or higher in a BS degree program in Engineering or Engineering Technology (Electrical, Automation, Mechanical, Chemical, Engineering Physics, or Manufacturing preferred).
• Ability to work a minimum of 10 weeks during the summer of 2025 (40 hours/week).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Interest in a full-time career in one of the listed engineering areas.
• Ability to take ownership of assignments and meet deadlines.
• Desire for growth and new opportunities.
• Reliable transportation. For roles requiring travel: valid driver’s license, auto insurance (at least state minimum), acceptable driving record, and a suitable vehicle.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. (sponsorship may be considered on a case-by-case basis).
