Engineering Intern – Houston, Texas

Kimley-Horn is seeking highly motivated Engineering students to join their Houston, Texas (TX) office. This is an on-site internship position and is not available for remote work.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize various technical software programs on a regular basis to analyze, produce, and perform quality control (QC) on deliverables for clients.
  • Contribute to the pre-construction civil engineering design, planning, modification, permitting, and analysis phases for a diverse range of projects.
  • Engage in solving complex engineering problems, provide support to project managers, and collaborate effectively across different disciplines to bring clients’ visions for the built environment to fruition.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn’s internal practices, procedures, and client-specific standards.
  • Interns will gain practical experience and learn to use one or more industry-specific software programs, which may include: AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, Excel, Microstation, VISSIM, Open Roads, Synchro, and/or GIS.

Qualifications

  • Must currently be in the process of receiving an ABET accredited engineering degree (Bachelors or Masters) in one of the following majors:
    • Civil and/or Environmental Engineering
    • Mechanical, Biological, Biosystems, Chemical, or Agricultural Engineering
    • Engineering Technology
