Key Responsibilities
As an Engineering Intern/Junior Engineer at Carollo, you will engage in a variety of foundational and impactful engineering tasks, contributing directly to our diverse projects. Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing essential engineering work across various specialized fields, including water and wastewater treatment processes, and providing crucial engineering services during construction phases of projects.
- Actively participating in and contributing to the development of engineering designs, from conceptual layouts to detailed schematics.
- Assisting with the thorough preparation of various technical reports, summarizing project findings, analyses, and recommendations.
- Developing comprehensive plans and specifications, as well as accurate cost estimates for a wide array of projects, ensuring adherence to project scopes and budgets.
- Methodically checking project submittals to verify their performance and conformity with established plans and specifications, ensuring quality and compliance.
- Assisting in the creation of detailed technical memoranda, reports, and electronic deliverables, maintaining clear and concise communication.
- Performing precise data entry and conducting insightful analysis to support engineering evaluations and decision-making processes.
- Participating in critical field activities, which may include conducting thorough site investigations, overseeing crucial pilot testing initiatives, and gathering essential on-site data.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is fundamental.
- Currently in your junior year of college (finishing or completed), demonstrating academic progress.
- Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, with a strong focus relevant to our water sector work.
- Possession of strong verbal and written communication skills, essential for effective technical correspondence and collaboration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, critical for data management, report generation, and professional document creation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience and/or specific coursework in areas relevant to water/wastewater treatment processes and conveyance systems, indicating foundational knowledge.
- Prior related internship experience is a valuable asset, showcasing practical application of engineering principles, though it is not strictly required.
- Having already passed or being scheduled for the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE)/Engineer-in-Training (EIT) exam, demonstrating a commitment to professional licensure.
- Practical experience using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Microstation, Revit, or Sketch Up, for design visualization and drafting.
