The Opportunity: Engineering Intern

Cadent invites passionate Engineering Interns to join our vibrant team for an immersive Spring term, commencing March 2, 2026, and concluding on May 8, 2026. This dynamic internship program is meticulously crafted to offer hands-on experience across diverse and critical technical domains within our organization.

As an Engineering Intern at Cadent, you won’t just be observing; you’ll be actively contributing! You’ll collaborate closely with our seasoned engineers, gaining invaluable exposure to modern development practices and contributing directly to high-impact systems that power our production environments. What You’ll Be Doing (Responsibilities may include):

  • Diving into the full software development lifecycle, from contributing to the design and development of innovative software applications to rigorous testing and seamless deployment.
  • Crafting and enhancing intuitive user-facing features, leveraging modern frontend frameworks such as React to deliver exceptional user experiences.
  • Building and maintaining robust backend services and resilient APIs, utilizing powerful languages like Java and/or Python.
  • Assisting with crucial data analysis, developing efficient data pipelines, or designing compelling experimentation to inform product strategy and drive key business decisions.
  • Supporting our scalable cloud infrastructure, optimizing CI/CD pipelines, implementing advanced monitoring solutions, and driving automation efforts within our GCP (Google Cloud Platform) environment.
  • Ensuring software excellence by writing, executing, and meticulously maintaining comprehensive test plans, detailed test cases, and sophisticated automated tests.
  • Sharpening your debugging skills, participating in thorough code reviews, and actively engaging in agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups and sprint planning.
  • Fostering cross-functional collaboration, working seamlessly with fellow engineers, product managers, and various stakeholders to bring ideas to life.

Who We’re Looking For (Qualifications):

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a closely related technical discipline.
  • A genuine passion for and demonstrated interest in one or more of our core technical areas: frontend development, backend systems, data science, DevOps, or quality assurance.
  • Familiarity with at least one key programming language such as Java or Python, or hands-on experience with frontend technologies like JavaScript and React.
  • A foundational understanding of essential software development concepts, including APIs, databases, and version control systems.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms, modern data tools, or testing frameworks is a valuable bonus, but not a strict requirement – we’re eager to teach and support your growth!
  • Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with an insatiable willingness to learn, adapt, and innovate in a fast-paced environment.
  • A collaborative team player with excellent communication skills, capable of thriving in a dynamic team setting.
  • Must be available to work 20 hours per week for the entire internship duration from March 2, 2026, to May 8, 2026.

Compensation:

The hourly pay rate for this Engineering Intern position ranges from USD $20.00 – USD $25.00 per hour.
