Job Description: Engineering Co-op and Internship Positions (Kansas City, MO):

SPX Cooling Technologies is currently hiring for paid engineering co-op and internship positions at their Research and Development center in Kansas City, Missouri. Positions are available in the following formats:

Co-op positions: Spring/Summer and Summer/Fall timeframes.
Full-time internships: Summer.
Part-time internships: Fall and Spring semesters (for local students).

Housing stipends are offered to students who are not local to the Kansas City area.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities: The positions will involve a variety of tasks, including:

Engineering test preparation
Product and component testing: This encompasses a wide range of tests evaluating structural integrity, hydraulics, fluid mechanics, mechanical components, thermal performance (heat and mass transfer coefficients), thermal capacity, sound levels, vibration characteristics, and materials evaluations.
Product improvement projects: These projects will involve design, layout, technical feasibility studies, and economic analysis.
Modification of engineering design programs and templates: This includes updates for code revisions, product revisions, and enhancements.
Activities associated with the engineering office: This includes design work, technical support, and documentation.
Project research
General maintenance functions

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, or Materials Engineering or Engineering Technology (in progress).
• Computer experience with Solid Modeling software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Cumulative college GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Experience with various test equipment, hand and power tools, and shop equipment (preferred).
