Engineering and Technology Internship Program – Embedded Systems Track:
This 12-week paid internship provides exposure to a combination of hardware and software product development support opportunities. Interns will work on projects with tangible significance for Eaton’s business and receive guidance and mentorship from esteemed leaders.
Key Areas of Focus:
• Cutting-edge Technologies: Interns will work on projects involving IoT product application and development, firmware and software development for micro-controllers, and development of embedded hardware for power distribution products.
• Business Acumen: The program aims to develop interns’ technical skills and business acumen, preparing them for potential consideration in Eaton’s Engineering and Technology Development Programs upon graduation.
Responsibilities:
• Contribute to projects that support specific business units or product lines.
• Collaborate on broader technology initiatives across the enterprise.
• Gain hands-on experience with embedded systems and relevant software languages.
Required Qualifications:
• Actively enrolled or having received a bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical or electronics engineering, computer engineering, software engineering, or computer science from an accredited institution.
• Minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.8.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
• Geographic flexibility to relocate within the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in embedded systems and exposure to software languages including C++, Java, and/or Python.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2.
• Prior internship or co-op experience.
• Demonstrated leadership experience within campus and/or community.
Position Criteria:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts effectively.
• Willingness to travel (up to 25%) within a local region as determined by the Engineering & Technology Assignment Manager.
• Demonstrated geographic flexibility to relocate within the United States for the duration of the internship to an Eaton facility including (but not limited to): Raleigh, NC; Pittsburgh, PA; Peachtree City, GA; Milwaukee, WI; Southfield, MI; or Torrance, CA.
• Transportation to and from the worksite and for incidental business travel is the responsibility of the intern, with expenses for required and approved business travel (not including the worksite) reimbursed.
