Description: Engineering Co-op
Cargill offers paid engineering co-op opportunities (at least 16 weeks) at their Georgetown, ON and Camrose, AB locations. The co-op program aims to provide students with real-world experience, mentorship, and skills development to prepare them for their careers.
Responsibilities:
• Gain a comprehensive understanding of plant operations, processes, and equipment through involvement in projects addressing efficiency, contractor collaboration, energy improvements, reliability enhancement, and process/equipment upgrades.
• Collaborate with diverse cross-functional teams including safety, environmental, maintenance, engineering, and operations personnel.
• Effectively communicate with individuals from various linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
• Learn and implement government safety and environmental regulations according to company policies.
• Manage people, processes, and inputs/outputs to successfully implement solutions.
• Participate in company orientation and ongoing performance assessments.
Work Environment:
The work environment is described as team-oriented, fast-paced, and hands-on. The job requires moderate physical exertion, including bending, lifting (occasionally over 50 pounds, frequently 10-25 pounds), and potential exposure to elements like heat, cold, and grain dust.

Currently pursuings:
• Required: Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, graduating between December 2025 and August 2027. Legal authorization to work in Canada. Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals. Ability to complete an 8-month co-op (May 2025 start in Georgetown; January or May 2025 start in Camrose). High initiative and resourcefulness.
• Preferred: Prior plant, production, co-op, or internship experience. Ability to apply technical knowledge to job duties. Problem-solving and decision-making skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated leadership skills.
