Job Description:

Ameresco is offering an Energy Engineering Internship based out of their Worthington, Ohio office. This is a 40-hour per week internship for the Summer cycle, August – December 2025. The role is remote friendly but requires coming into the Worthington office as needed.

As an Energy Engineering Intern, you will assist in various aspects of energy projects, including:

Implementation: Helping clients identify and implement cost-effective energy efficiency projects (e.g., lighting, HVAC, controls, VFDs).
Recovery Services: Assisting clients in recouping investments on past, current, and future energy efficiency projects (e.g., Utility Programs, PJM, EPACT, Federal, State, Local Grants).
On-Site Generation: Supporting clients in designing, owning, and operating on-site generation systems (e.g., Cogeneration, CHP, WER, Solar, Wind).
Energy Efficiency Consulting: Helping clients solve complex energy efficiency problems (e.g., Audits, Assessments, Measurement & Verification, Training).
• Assisting the Smart Building Solutions Engineering team on Energy Services related projects.
• Helping the team audit facilities, complete energy efficiency calculations, compile a collection of creative ECMs, and help sell projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Working toward a B.S. in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical Engineering or an M.S. in Renewable & Clean Energy.

Additional Qualifications:

• Strong proficiency in MS Office programs with an emphasis on data entry and analytics.
• Experience working in the Energy field: particularly with lighting, HVAC, controls, or building envelope.
