The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Rochester Regional Health, primarily remote with a base in Rochester, NY, operating Monday through Friday with weekly on-call rotations. Rochester Regional Health provides comprehensive healthcare services to the community. This EMR Analyst position is critical for managing and supporting the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, directly impacting patient care and operational efficiency by ensuring reliable software performance and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Actually Do
• EMR Software Mastery: Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of EMR software, focusing on your assigned application area, to provide expert support and guide its evolution.
• Troubleshooting & Resolution: Analyze reported software issues to determine root causes and implement effective resolutions, ensuring system reliability and optimal user experience.
• System Design & Build: Participate actively in the design, build, test, and validation phases of EMR software updates and new functionalities, adhering to departmental standards and ensuring operational readiness.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate effectively with end users and leadership regarding system changes, project plans, and application usage, fostering collaboration across operational and application teams.
• Operational Task Management: Manage a diverse portfolio of incidents, work orders, projects, and change requests (RFCs) by prioritizing tasks, documenting progress, and ensuring compliance with established system change control guidelines.

The Must-Haves
• Background: An Associate’s Degree is preferred for this role. Candidates are expected to possess a foundational understanding of clinical and peripheral healthcare functions, their associated work processes, and the underlying technology that supports these workflows.
• Experience: Demonstrated capability in troubleshooting, updating, and resolving software incidents efficiently. This role requires active participation in application design, build, and validation efforts, including the execution of unit and system test cases, documenting results, and validating resolutions with end users. EMR Certification is a mandatory requirement to be obtained within six months of hire, if applicable to the specific job function.
• Skills: Exceptional customer service and communication skills are essential for effective interaction with end users, leadership, and collaborative work with other application teams. Strong analytical abilities are critical for conducting root cause analysis and implementing robust solutions for reported issues.
