Employee Benefits Account Manager

Summary

The Employee Benefits Account Manager is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of employee benefits products and processes. This position acts with a high degree of accuracy and independence, providing essential account management support to Account Executives and Consultant colleagues. The ideal candidate will be adept at prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment and respond to demands in optimal time frames. A key aspect of this role is demonstrating teamwork in daily service activities to ensure optimal client retention.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to Account Executive and Senior Account Management team, including assisting in creating presentation materials and spreadsheet reviews.
  • Execute day-to-day service transactions for clients efficiently to ensure high retention rates.
  • Act as a crucial client liaison between senior account management, account executives, and consultants, facilitating smooth communication.
  • Responsible for accurately completing documents related to customer administration, covering areas such as Compliance, Analytics, and Wellness.
  • Meet and exceed client expectations regarding enrollment processes, billing inquiries, and overall service matters.
  • Maintain a current and comprehensive working knowledge of various vendors, carriers, and insurance products.
  • Actively participate in the development and execution of renewal strategies, marketing efforts, review of marketing results, and presentation of findings.
  • Submit new business applications and process renewals to relevant carriers.
  • Effectively utilize agency technology and software applications, including agency management systems, document management systems, and workflows.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management to support team objectives.

Basic Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of employee benefits insurance experience with an insurance carrier or brokerage firm.
  • Licensure: Active Life & Health Insurance license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of all types of funding mechanisms within employee benefits.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, essential for client and internal interactions.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Ability to thrive and contribute effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Compensation Range

Annual Salary: $49,925.00 – $92,575.00

The compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. Colleagues in this position are also eligible to participate in an applicable incentive compensation plan. In addition, Huntington provides a variety of benefits to colleagues, including health insurance coverage, wellness program, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plan, paid leave programs, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
