Job Description – Embedded Software Internship
Are you an HBO IT student with a passion for real-time embedded software? Do you thrive on working with real machines and relish a challenge?
Canon Production Printing has an exciting opportunity for you!
Your Assignment:
• Real-World Impact: Work alongside experienced engineers to develop a hardware simulator for an existing CPP stacking module. This project will be used by CPP’s R&D team for years to come.
• Full Software Development Lifecycle: Experience the entire software development process, from gathering requirements to testing, including development on actual printers.
• State-of-the-Art Tools: You’ll be working with Canon’s model-driven toolset designed for Linux-based platforms.
• Collaboration & Learning: Join a dynamic team of 4 embedded software engineers and a product owner, offering diverse experience and opportunities for growth.
What you’ll be doing:
• Developing a hardware simulator: You’ll design and build a simulator for a CPP stacking module, mimicking the behavior of external machines like punchers or folders that are used in printer configurations.
• Working with real printers: Your work will directly impact real-world applications and contribute to the company’s R&D efforts.
• Utilizing Linux and embedded software: You’ll gain valuable experience working with Linux-based systems and embedded software development.
• Applying your knowledge of GIT: You’ll use GIT for version control, a common tool in software development environments.
Your Profile:
• Currently studying HBO IT or HBO (Applied) Computer Sciences
• Passionate about embedded software and Linux
• Excited by the challenge of designing a new application that connects internal and external interfaces
• Proficient in GIT
• Available for 4 to 8 months, working a minimum of 4 days per week
