Job Description:

This is an onsite internship position located in Warrendale, PA, starting on July 3, 2025. As an Embedded Controls Software Intern at Komatsu, you will be an integral part of the team responsible for developing core Embedded Control, Human Machine Interface, and Data Management software for underground mining applications. You will gain experience developing software for underground machines like continuous miners and long wall systems.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Contributing to the development of core embedded software for globally operating products.
• Developing real-time embedded open-loop and closed-loop machine control systems using hydraulic and electrical actuators, along with various position sensors.
• Working with real-time operating systems like VxWorks, Windows Embedded, and Linux.
• Gaining familiarity with diverse development and test environments, including bench testing, 3D simulation, and factory floor testing on actual machinery.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering.
OR Currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Control Systems Development, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
• Proven strengths in embedded and networked systems and software development.
• Strong programming skills in C and Java.
