Job Description:
This is an Embedded Controls Software Intern position with Komatsu, based in Warrendale, PA. The internship is onsite, starting on June 4, 2025. As an intern, you will be part of a team responsible for developing core Embedded Control, Human Machine Interface, and Data Management software for underground mining applications.
Key Responsibilities:
• Contribute to the development of core embedded software for products that operate globally.
• Gain exposure to developing software for underground machines such as continuous miners and long wall systems.
• Enhance skills in real-time embedded open loop and closed loop machine control using hydraulic and electrical actuators and various position sensors.
• Work with real-time operating systems such as VxWorks, Windows Embedded, and Linux.
• Gain familiarity with various development and test environments, including bench testing, 3D simulation, and factory floor testing on actual machinery.
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering.
• OR Currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Control Systems Development, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
• Proven strengths in embedded and networked systems and software development.
• Strong programming skills in C and Java.
