Embark Scholar Intern – Technology Job Description
KPMG is currently seeking an Embark Scholar Intern – Technology to join their Embark Scholars program. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience within KPMG’s audit, tax, and advisory businesses.
Responsibilities:
• Gain Insight into KPMG’s Services: Rotate through the firm’s audit, tax, and advisory practices to understand how they serve clients and gain insights into the world of professional services.
• Hands-on Experience: Participate in a variety of assignments across different practices, supporting engagement teams with:
• Utilizing audit methodologies and Data and Analytics (D&A).
• Tax and advisory related tasks like data extraction and analysis.
• Creating work paper files, preparing client reports and deliverables, and organizing business development activities.
• Contribute to Client Success: Assist engagement teams in:
• Identifying the scope of engagement capabilities.
• Reviewing client materials.
• Providing insights from analysis.
• Proposing how analysis can be leveraged for successful execution.
• Leverage Technology: Utilize a range of technologies and analytics tools to support client engagements.
• Maintain Integrity: Contribute to the integrity and transparency of financial information.
Qualifications:
• Must be enrolled in an accredited college, university or community college pursuing or intending to pursue a Bachelor or Master of Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or other related degree.
• Candidates must have completed at least 1 semester (or equivalent for quarter schools) of coursework at the time of application.
• Upon completion of the Embark Scholars internship program, candidates must have at least 3 additional semesters (or equivalent for quarter schools) to complete before obtaining their degree and/or CPA eligibility requirements.
• Preferred GPA of 3.00 or above.
• Demonstrates or conveys a commitment to creating a culture of diversity and inclusion.
• Excellent communication, task, time management, and leadership skills.
• Flexible and adaptable team player, resourceful in delivering high-quality work.
• Must reside within a commutable distance to the office for this position and be able to travel to work locations using own means of transportation, such as a personal vehicle or public transportation.
• Work location may be in the office but could be at client sites, some of which may require travel and overnight/extended stay (varies by office).
• Must be 18 years or older by June 1, 2025.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.
