Job Description: Embark Scholar Intern
KPMG is seeking an Embark Scholar Intern to participate in its Embark Scholars program. This internship offers a comprehensive experience within the professional services industry.
Responsibilities:
• Rotational Experience: The intern will rotate through KPMG’s audit, tax, and advisory business units, gaining exposure to the diverse services offered and potential career paths.
• Varied Assignments: The role encompasses a range of tasks across different practices. This includes supporting engagement teams in utilizing audit methodology, Data & Analytics (D&A), and tax and advisory-related projects. Specific tasks may involve data extraction, analysis, creation of work paper files, preparation of client reports and deliverables, and participation in business development activities.
• Analytical Support: Interns will assist in defining engagement scope, reviewing client materials, providing insights derived from analysis, and suggesting how analytical findings can be leveraged for effective execution.
• Technology Utilization: The position requires proficiency in utilizing a variety of technologies and analytical tools.
• Financial Integrity: A key aspect of the role is contributing to the maintenance of integrity and transparency in financial information.
• Professional Conduct: The intern is expected to uphold KPMG’s values by maintaining a professional, respectful, and responsible work environment.
Qualifications:
• Education: Must be enrolled in an accredited college, university, or community college pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accountancy, Taxation, or a related field.
• CPA Intent: For accounting majors, an intention to pursue a CPA license is preferred.
• Coursework Completion: Candidates must have completed at least one semester (or equivalent) of coursework at the time of application.
• Remaining Semesters: Upon internship completion, at least three additional semesters (or equivalent) must remain before degree completion and/or CPA eligibility.
• GPA: A preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Diversity & Inclusion: Applicants from underrepresented racial and ethnic minority groups (Black or African-American, Hispanic or Latinx, American Indian or Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander) are especially encouraged to apply. Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion is a plus.
• Leadership Experience: Prior participation in leadership programs (KPMG’s Rise, Talent+, etc., or similar programs) is preferred.
• Skills: Excellent communication, task management, time management, and leadership skills are essential. The ideal candidate is a flexible, adaptable team player who is resourceful and committed to delivering high-quality work.
• Commute & Travel: Must reside within commuting distance of the office and be able to utilize personal transportation (car or public transport). Work may occur at client sites, potentially requiring travel and overnight stays.
• Age & Authorization: Must be 18 years or older by June 1, 2026, and authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
