Job Description: Embark Scholar Intern

KPMG is seeking passionate and driven individuals to join their Embark Scholars program as interns. This program provides a unique opportunity to learn about the world of professional services and build a foundation for a successful career.

Responsibilities:

Gain practical experience: Rotate through audit, tax, and advisory businesses to understand KPMG’s service offerings and the professional services landscape.
Contribute to real-world projects: Participate in a variety of assignments across different practices, supporting engagement teams with tasks such as:
• Utilizing audit methodology and Data and Analytics (D&A).
• Conducting data extractions and analysis for tax and advisory projects.
• Creating work paper files, preparing client reports and deliverables.
• Organizing business development activities.
Develop valuable skills: Assist in identifying engagement capabilities, review client materials, provide insights, and propose how analysis can be leveraged to execute projects.
Embrace technology: Leverage a range of technologies and analytics tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Uphold integrity: Contribute to the integrity and transparency of financial information.
Foster a respectful environment: Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to maintain KPMG’s respectful and courteous work environment.

Qualifications:

Academic standing: Must be enrolled in an accredited college, university, or community college pursuing or intending to pursue a Bachelor or Master of Accountancy, Taxation, or other related degree.
Career aspirations: Intention to obtain a CPA is preferred for accounting majors.
Strong academic record: Candidates must have completed at least one semester (or equivalent for quarter schools) of coursework at the time of application and have at least three additional semesters (or equivalent) remaining before graduation and/or CPA eligibility. Preferred GPA of 3.00 or above.
Commitment to diversity and inclusion: Demonstrates or conveys a commitment to creating a culture that embraces, respects, and values differences. Prior involvement in diversity-focused initiatives is encouraged.
Leadership potential: Prior participation in KPMG leadership programs or other organization’s leadership programs is a preferred qualification.
Essential skills: Excellent communication, task, time management, and leadership skills; flexible and adaptable team player; resourceful in delivering high-quality work.
Location: Must reside within a commutable distance to the office location and be able to travel using own means of transportation.
Travel: Work location may be in the office or at client sites, potentially requiring travel and overnight/extended stays (varies by office).
Age requirement: Must be 18 years or older by June 1, 2026.
Work authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship.
