Electrical Engineering Intern | General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS)

The Tone:

This Electrical Engineering Intern role contributes directly to programs supporting the defense of our country, focusing on critical systems like airborne mission computers, display processing computers, stores management systems, and radar processing systems. Interns will work closely with esteemed customers and talented colleagues to develop solutions for high-stakes national security missions, enhancing their skills in a recognized and rewarded environment.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Apply Engineering Skills: Apply classroom-learned electrical engineering skills and knowledge to active programs critical for national defense.
• Develop Defense Systems: Contribute to the technical development of various defense services, including airborne mission computers, display processing computers, and radar processing systems.
• Collaborate on Programs: Work within collaborative teams on technical programs directly associated with the company’s core mission of national security.
• Perform Technical Analysis: Conduct detailed classroom and lab-based circuit analysis, perform simulations, and execute troubleshooting activities.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Enrolled in an accredited Bachelor’s degree program in Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related scientific or technical discipline.
• Experience: Demonstrated experience with classroom and lab-based circuit analysis, simulations, and troubleshooting.
• Skills: Thorough understanding of engineering technology, specifically applied to circuit analysis, simulations, and troubleshooting. Ability to persevere through challenges with minimal direction.
• Bonus: An interest in the electrical hardware development process and a standing of a sophomore or higher in an accredited degree program.
