Location & Schedule:
This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position with 5 days per week onsite in Needham, MA. No relocation or housing assistance is provided for this position.
Role Overview:
As an Electrical Design Engineering Intern, Advanced Development, you will be an integral part of the Advanced Development team, helping to design and build prototypes for the next generation of products. This role focuses on bringing technical substance and inspiration to the Electrical Engineering team, ensuring that imaginative but credible solutions populate SharkNinja’s ambitious product roadmap. The team thrives on designing great products that delight customers and looks for individuals who can inject technical expertise and creativity into their efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support the development of novel concepts and technologies for SharkNinja’s next generation of products.
• Help communicate ideas quickly and effectively using a combination of ECAD layout, simulation, and breadboard circuits to evaluate potential solutions.
• Build test rigs in the lab while supporting the execution of verification and validation test plans.
• Inject energy, enthusiasm, and creativity into all tasks.
• Be naturally curious and relentlessly driven to find better solutions to everyday problems.
• Demonstrate integrity and courage in your work, challenging the status quo when necessary.
• Evaluate and improve designs for cost-effectiveness, manufacturing improvements, increased quality, and value.
• Identify new ideas, products, and/or features that improve customer satisfaction, reduce costs, and keep the product line at the forefront of the industry.
Key Attributes & Skills:
• Education: Current student in their third year or beyond of a bachelor’s program, or currently enrolled in a master’s or doctoral program.
• Must be able to come into the office 5 days per week.
• The ideal candidate will have completed 2+ years in an Electrical Engineering degree program.
• A natural and effective communicator capable of reducing abstract concepts to reality.
• Able to quickly generate visual and physical definitions of new products that convey key attributes of function and layout.
• A thorough understanding of basic physical principles.
• Creativity and technical knowledge are crucial in this position.
• Experience with one or more of the following: motor control, sensors, embedded microcontrollers (including Arduino), battery management, small signal amplifier circuits, and switching power supplies.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point.
• Experience with general prototyping is a plus.
• Some software/firmware experience is a plus.
• Working knowledge of C/C++ with microcontrollers is a plus.
Salary and Other Compensation:
The hourly salary range for this position is $17—$44 USD. Starting pay within this range may be affected by factors such as geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications.
