Job Description: Early Career Quality Engineer Associate (Job ID: 681099BR)
Lockheed Martin Rotary & Mission Systems is seeking a full-time Early Career Quality Engineer Associate. This role involves providing leadership in the development and implementation of quality planning, inspection methods, and first article inspections. A key responsibility is driving root cause and corrective action investigations to ensure quality standards are met throughout the product lifecycle.
Responsibilities include:
• Working in a customer-focused environment, maintaining effective communication with internal and external customers (including the DCMA and FAA).
• Coordinating with Engineering, Operations, and Procurement to address product quality issues and achieve effective resolutions.
• Contributing to the Product Quality team in support of Daily Review Teams (DRT), Corrective Action Board (CAB), High Visibility (Hi-Vis) escape management process, and data analytics to identify trends and maintain key quality metrics.
• Promoting continuous improvement using Enterprise Excellence tools like Relentless Root Cause Analysis and DIVE to eliminate discrepancies and escapes.
• Implementing standard work for key processes and supporting Product Operations initiatives.
• Supporting the Material Review Board, Quality Council, Product Safety, and ESH initiatives.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited university.
• Proficiency in MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Basic Quality Engineering knowledge.
• Familiarity with root cause analysis, mistake proofing, and technical writing skills.
• US Citizenship.
Desired Skills:
• Background in ISO 9001/AS9100.
• Familiarity with reading engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of Sikorsky helicopter and/or aerospace products in a production/manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity and/or knowledge of Failure Analysis.
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T).
• Ability to manage multiple tasks across various process areas simultaneously.
• Prior internship experience in a manufacturing environment.
