Job Description
Lockheed Martin is seeking an Early Career Industrial Engineer for their Ocala, Florida location. This is a full-time, onsite position. Ocala Operations is a multi-shift manufacturing facility that builds circuit cards, wiring harnesses, and electro-assemblies for the Missiles and Fire Control division. The facility boasts over 1200 employees and specializes in both high-volume and low-volume, high-mix production, encompassing both automated and labor-intensive processes.
As an entry-level Industrial Engineer, you will play a crucial role in optimizing production efficiency. Your responsibilities will include:
• Analyzing and designing work flow sequences: Improve efficiency in plant and production facilities, including equipment layouts.
• Maximizing resource utilization: Develop methods for maximizing utilization of both production facilities and personnel.
• Cost control and reduction: Conduct studies and implement plans for cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems.
• Facility modifications: Develop and implement plans for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods based on your studies.
• Collaboration with facilities engineers: Assist facilities engineers in the planning and design of facilities.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
• Recent graduates: Seeking recent graduates or May 2024 graduates with availability to start in May 2024.
• Industrial Engineering degree: Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
• Organization and planning: Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Desired Skills:
• Understanding of industrial engineering concepts: Time Study, Continuous Process Improvement, Optimization, etc.
• Simulation software proficiency: Knowledge in simulation programs (SIMIO, Flex-Sim, etc.)
• CAD experience: Experience in CAD (AutoCAD, Solidworks)
• Analytical tools proficiency: Understanding of analytical tools (Tableau, PowerBI)
• Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification: A plus!
• Teamwork and communication: Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and possess excellent communication skills.
• Microsoft Office proficiency: Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
Work Schedule:
• 4×10 hour day, 3 days off per week
