Category Manager Intern (TikTok Shop – Operations) | TikTok

The Tone:
This is an internship at TikTok, likely located in Los Angeles, CA. TikTok is a leading global destination for short-form mobile video, with a mission to inspire creativity and bring joy. This role is part of the TikTok Shop US operation team, focused on expanding its e-commerce business in the US. Interns in this position will gain hands-on experience and contribute to building an innovative e-commerce ecosystem, helping to scale the #TikTokMadeMeBuyIt phenomenon.

• Team: TikTok Shop US operation team, responsible for building the TikTok Ecommerce partnership in the US.
• Mission: This person helps scale content and creator commerce in the US by acquiring and incubating merchants to support category growth and solving key business challenges.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Acquire: Acquire and incubate merchants to support category growth within TikTok Shop.
• Discover: Discover innovative collaborative models that align with merchants’ short-term and long-term development plans, investing platform resources effectively.
• Solve: Solve key challenges in business growth through strong collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Consult: Employ a consultative approach by offering strategic content, creator/affiliate/agency partner, merchandising, and logistical solutions to all clients.
• Update: Update clients on TikTok Shop product developments and new promotional opportunities.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing an MBA Degree.
• Experience: Able to commit to working for 12 weeks during Summer 2026.
• Skills: Structured thinking, strong analytical skills, excellent communication and cross-team collaboration, proactive, resilient, and adaptable to change.
• Bonus: Internship or full-time experience in an e-commerce marketplace business or retail category management; familiarity with TikTok content ecosystem, shoppable content, and brand-creator partnerships.
