Job Description: Driver

We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Driver. This role is crucial for maintaining strong relationships with our professional customers and ensuring timely, safe delivery of automotive parts. Beyond driving, you will play an active role in sales support, inventory management, and maintaining store standards.

Position Responsibilities

  • Pick, stage, and safely deliver parts to pro customers.
  • Execute returns and core pickups efficiently.
  • Distribute weekly/monthly sales flyers and actively promote current sales and loyalty programs.
  • Conduct daily collection of credit accounts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with MainStreet and National Pro customers, providing valuable insights to the CPP learned during deliveries.
  • Assist in upselling and cross-selling products to increase average transaction value.
  • Maintain overall store cleanliness, including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, and the parking lot.
  • Perform general stocking duties, including truck stocking, back stock management, and cycle counts.
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of product inventory and new arrivals to effectively assist with sales.
  • Engage with walk-in customers to understand their needs and recommend appropriate parts or services.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Success Factors

  • Proven ability in safe driving and navigation.
  • Proficiency in using a delivery board system.
  • Possession of friendly and persuasive communication skills.
  • Capability to locate and stock parts efficiently.
  • Strong safety knowledge and skills.
  • Experience operating inventory systems (e.g., Back stock) and store equipment.
  • Demonstrated sales aptitude and customer service orientation.
  • Ability to identify customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions.

Essential Job Skills Necessary For Success As a Driver

  • Ability to speak and write English effectively (Spanish is a plus); communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers, and leadership.
  • Capability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals.
  • Accuracy in basic math: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Flexibility to work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed.
  • Confidence in engaging customers and promoting products.
  • Willingness to learn about new products and sales techniques.

Prior Experience That Sets a Driver Up For Success

  • Automotive parts experience is preferred.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
