CAD Detailer – Entry Level | Seating Solutions
The Tone:
This is an early career opportunity at Seating Solutions, part of InProduction, located in Dallas, TX. InProduction has evolved into the largest provider of temporary seating, staging, structures, and scenic production for the United States events industry. This role is central to creating and designing accurate solutions for high-profile nationwide events, directly supporting sales staff, customers, building officials, and field technicians. You will contribute to the company’s sustained growth and success by providing essential technical drawings.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Draft: Create clear, accurate 2D drawings using VectorWorks, AutoCAD, and SketchUp for various scenic flats, steps, decks, pipe-and-base layouts, and stage plans.
• Convert: Support Project Managers and Production Designers by converting sketches, notes, or existing drawings into usable drafting packages.
• Model: Create basic 3D models of simple scenic elements from 2D drawings using SketchUp, VectorWorks, or AutoCAD to aid team visualization and coordination.
• Standardize: Apply company drafting standards and drawing templates to maintain consistency and quality across all jobs.
• Coordinate: Assist in preparing drawing sets for fabrication and onsite installation, coordinating with fabrication teams to ensure accuracy and clarity of construction drawings.
The Must-Haves
• Background: High school diploma or equivalent is required, with an Associate’s degree, technical certificate, or formal CAD training preferred. An internship or experience in live events, scenic fabrication, or theatrical production is a plus.
• Experience: No specific years of experience are required for this entry-level role, with an emphasis on a willingness to learn and grow.
• Skills: Proficiency in 2D drafting using VectorWorks and AutoCAD; familiarity with SketchUp for basic 3D visualization; understanding of standard scenic construction components and stage layouts; attention to detail and ability to interpret shop standards; organizational skills for managing multiple projects.
• Bonus: Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop
