About the Job: DOD SkillBridge Internship (Government Consulting)
This position is a SkillBridge Internship specifically designed for transitioning service members participating in the DOD SkillBridge Program. It focuses on providing consulting support within the Government Consulting Services Center of Excellence (CoE).

Summary of the Role:
The role involves providing consulting support directly or indirectly related to the Department of Defense or state/local government(s). This includes developing study methodologies, performing data collection and analyses, researching, and writing unique reports. It is ideal for a professional passionate about public service, process improvement, and project management.
Essential Functions (Key Responsibilities):
• Research and Reporting: Conducting research on assigned areas or issues and producing formal and informal reports to summarize information or persuade stakeholders.
• Process Improvement: Supporting continuous process improvement and business process reengineering projects through process mapping, data collection, analysis, visualization, and digital solution development.
• Project Execution: Contributing to project execution by preparing reports, developing technical documents and presentations, and assisting with deliverables.
• Facilitation: Planning, organizing, and leading virtual and in-person engagements with project stakeholders for visioning, brainstorming, and problem-solving.
• Client Relations: Meeting with clients and their representatives to present results, resolve issues, answer questions, and maintain positive relationships.
• Project Management Support: Assisting with or managing project aspects including budgeting, scheduling, team organization, prioritizing multiple projects and deadlines, quality assurance, and invoicing.
• Proposal Development: Supporting proposal efforts by providing content for approach, schedule, or other sections as required by RFPs/RFQs.
Competencies (Required Skills and Knowledge):
• DOD Familiarity: Familiarity with the organization and structure of the U.S. Department of Defense, with detailed working knowledge of one or more military services.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to gather input from diverse stakeholders to incorporate their perspectives and specialized knowledge into recommendations.
• Information Management: Skill in collecting and organizing information from various sources (databases, documents, surveys, customer feedback).
• Analytical Skills: Ability to use statistical analysis, simulations, predictive modeling, or other quantitative methods to analyze information and develop practical business solutions.
• Communication: Outstanding written and oral communication and presentation skills, including writing memos, reports, and developing presentations for various stakeholders.
• Technical Proficiency: Well-versed in the use of the Microsoft Office suite (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and others).
• Travel: Ability and willingness to travel to project sites and other facility offices.
• Preferred: Working knowledge of data visualization and automation tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
Education and Experience (Qualifications):
• Education: Undergraduate or graduate degree in engineering, architecture, operations research, data science, or a related field of study.
• Experience: Minimum of four years of work-related experience, preferably in areas such as engineering, public works, installation management, construction management, logistics, or base operating support.
• License: Valid driver’s license, in conjunction with successfully passing the Company’s Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) screening.
Physical Demands:
The role typically involves sitting, using hands (finger, handle, feel), reaching with hands and arms, and talking or hearing. Occasional requirements include standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, and lifting/moving up to 10 pounds. The work environment usually has a moderate noise level.
