DoD SkillBridge Intern – Engineering & Project Management

Mott MacDonald is actively seeking dynamic individuals with diverse skill sets to join our team as Interns through the prestigious Department of Defense (DoD) SkillBridge program. We have rewarding opportunities for aspiring Engineers and Project Managers who are eager to transition into a civilian career at one of the world’s leading employee-owned engineering consultancies.

This is a truly dynamic role designed to immerse you in the successful delivery and management of major programs. You will gain invaluable hands-on experience, collaborating directly with industry experts, and building a foundational understanding of our innovative approach to infrastructure and development.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Individuals with prior experience in engineering design, program management, construction, or related fields are highly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

As a SkillBridge Intern, you will play a crucial role in supporting our project teams, with duties including:

  • Collecting, preparing, and maintaining essential engineering data, such as tests and drawings.
  • Assisting in the preparation of design documents and supporting calculations.
  • Performing assignments in adherence to standard practices, techniques, and procedures.
  • Supporting various engineering activities under the direct guidance of senior staff.
  • Producing accurate technical reports, comprehensive documentation, calculations, and sketches.
  • Actively engaging in continuous development of your technical and professional skills.
  • Communicating effectively, both orally and in writing, with team members and stakeholders.

Qualifications & Eligibility

To be considered for this unique opportunity, you MUST be eligible for the Department of Defense SkillBridge program.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, project management, or a related field. Candidates currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in these fields are also encouraged to apply.
  • Experience: Prior experience and knowledge in engineering, project management, construction, or related fields is highly preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong project management, leadership, and technical skills.
    • Excellent judgment, organizational ability, and problem-solving skills.
    • Proven ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and manage complex issues.
    • Skilled in preparing and interpreting detailed reports and evaluating solutions.

Compensation & Benefits

Participants in the SkillBridge program will continue to receive their compensation and benefits directly through the Department of Defense for the duration of their internship.
