Job Description: Documentary Production Internships: NYC – Fall 2025

This posting invites applications for multiple Documentary Production internship opportunities within Warner Bros. Discovery, all located in the NYC area. Applicants will be considered for all available internships in this field by applying to this single posting. The selected interns are expected to work in a hybrid capacity, joining the team in the office on a regular cadence determined by their intern manager’s schedule.

Key Dates & Logistics:
Application Deadline: Sunday, August 24th. (Applicants are advised to submit as soon as possible, as applications may close earlier due to high volume).
Program Duration: 10 weeks.
Program Dates: Start Date: October 7th; End Date: December 13th.
Work Hours: Interns are expected to work 16-24 hours per week.
Compensation: This is a paid opportunity with a competitive hourly wage: $19 per hour USD for undergraduate interns and $25 per hour USD for graduate-level interns.
Academic Credit: Credit is not required, but WBD will provide necessary documentation for school credit if desired.
Relocation: Relocation assistance is not provided.
Interview Process: Interviewing will take place from August through mid-September. Only candidates whose experiences and interests match an open internship position will be contacted due to the high volume of applications.

Overview of Responsibilities (This Could Include, But Is Not Limited To):
A specific example given is the CNN Documentaries/The Whole Story Intern, where responsibilities may include:
• Gathering video.
• Preparing and organizing interviews for transcription.
• Organizing visual elements.
• Basic story research and fact-checking.

Required Qualifications & Experience (Essentials for similar roles):
While not all essentials apply to every single role, candidates should ideally possess:
• Previous experience in long-form journalism.
• Ability to function well in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Strong interest in documentaries.
Spreadsheet and analytical skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Willingness to work both with a team and independently.
• Familiarity with Google Suite and Microsoft (specifically MS Excel and PowerPoint).
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and prioritize deliverables/projects with competing deadlines.

Strict Requirements for Eligibility:
• Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required).
• Must be a rising Junior or Senior Undergraduate Student (18 years or older).
• Must be in academic good standing (3.0 or above cumulative GPA). A transcript will be required to verify GPA if an offer is extended.
• Candidates must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and will NOT require work visa sponsorship from Warner Bros. Discovery now or in the future. Candidates currently on any student or exchange visa (including F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1, etc.) will not be eligible for this internship program.
