Docketing & E-Filing Specialist | Robinson+Cole

The Tone:
This is a full-time, remote position at Robinson+Cole. The firm is a recognized legal entity providing comprehensive services to its clients. This role is crucial for ensuring the accurate and timely electronic filing of legal documents with state and federal courts. The specialist will play a key part in supporting the firm’s litigation efforts by managing court submissions and maintaining the internal docketing system with precision.

• Mission: Ensure accurate and timely electronic filing and docketing of legal documents across state and federal courts.
• Tech Stack: Westlaw, PACER, CompuLaw, CM-ECF, NYSCEF, ACMS

What You’ll Actually Do
• E-File: Electronically file pleadings and other court documents according to established court and firm procedures within communicated deadlines.
• Docket: Docket and calendar case information in the firm’s system, ensuring accurate date calculations and generating reports on case history and future filing deadlines.
• Review: Perform a preliminary review of documents for proper form and follow set finalizing procedures prior to filing.
• Communicate: Provide information to attorneys and paralegals regarding electronic filing procedures and protocols, and communicate with them about court filings.
• Research: Conduct assigned research using Westlaw, PACER, and related databases, and communicate findings as directed.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience, with foundational knowledge of court rules and procedures in state, federal, and appellate courts, and court docketing and calendaring procedures.
• Experience: Familiarity with NY/NJ/CT filing procedures and calendar deadlines, along with familiarity with CompuLaw or similar docketing systems, CM-ECF, NYSCEF, and ACMS.
• Skills: Excellent organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, strong follow-up and follow-through, solid interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, and excellent legal research skills.
• Bonus: Minimum of 3 years litigation paralegal experience preferred.
