The Tone:
This is a full-time, non-exempt role at Burke, Williams & Sorensen, LLP, located in their Los Angeles office with a hybrid work arrangement. The firm is seeking a dedicated individual to manage critical legal deadlines and court-related information. This position is vital for ensuring the smooth operation of legal proceedings by accurately tracking and communicating essential dates, directly supporting attorneys and legal staff in their case management.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Calendaring & Docketing: Maintain accurate calendaring and docketing entries using the firm’s centralized software, including Prolaw and Milana.
• Deadline Management: Review court filings and incoming documents to identify, calculate, and calendar all critical deadlines and key dates.
• Document & Data Management: Retrieve court documents and meticulously maintain related docketing databases and matter records for all cases.
• Monitoring & Updates: Continuously monitor court dockets for updates to ensure all calendar entries and deadlines remain current and accurate.
• Reporting & Litigation Support: Run and distribute docketing and calendar reports as needed, providing essential litigation support by tracking and communicating deadlines and scheduling details to legal teams.
The Must-Haves
• Background: High school diploma required, with a strong understanding of court docketing and calendaring procedures, court filings, and general rules of court.
• Experience: Minimum of two years of docketing experience specifically within a law firm environment, with prior hands-on experience utilizing docketing programs such as Prolaw, Compulaw, and Milana.
• Skills: Excellent organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat, strong research abilities, and clear verbal and written communication skills.
• Bonus: Bachelor’s degree preferred.
