This is a part-time Discovery Shop staff position responsible for supporting most aspects of daily shop operational functions, including extended weekly business hours. This specific role is not eligible for benefits.

Major Responsibilities:
Customer Service: Welcome greetings, merchandise sales, cashiering, merchandise bagging, and carry-out assistance to customer’s vehicle.
Donor Service: Receiving donations, carry-in assistance from donor’s vehicle, placing donations in designated areas, providing donation receipts, and processing receipts with donations.
Volunteer Support: Provide internal operational support to volunteers.
Store Operations: Execute store opening and closing procedures, including cash register drawer counts and end-of-day income reporting.
Merchandise Presentation & Maintenance: Maintain the appearance of the sales floor (opening, ongoing, and end-of-day), which includes dressing room cleanout, dusting, vacuuming, straightening racks and fixtures, and refreshing depleted displays.
Donation Processing: Process received donations by sorting, steaming, pricing, and placing merchandise on the sales floor.

Formal Knowledge (Required Qualifications):
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Retail experience working with customers, sales, cashiering, and merchandising.

Other Skills:
• Excellent communication and customer relation skills.
• Comfortable with multi-tasking responsibilities.
• Team player, willing to do what is necessary to get the job done.

Special Mental or Physical Demands:
• While performing duties, the employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk or hear.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.

Work Environment:
• The employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time (likely when assisting with vehicle carry-outs).
• The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.

Compensation:
• The starting rate for this position is $18/hr.
• The final candidate’s relevant experience and skills will be considered before an offer is extended.
