Discovery Paralegal Specialist | Guidehouse
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Guidehouse, located remotely within the US. Guidehouse is a consulting firm that guides organizations through complexity, providing litigation and investigation support services. This position is crucial for supporting the Department of Justice by helping them navigate the challenges of data proliferation and the complex legal and technical aspects of eDiscovery. The role contributes directly to guiding customers through these evolving terrains, ensuring accurate and thorough legal document reviews.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Coordination: Coordinate directly with lead eDiscovery Counsel on current and future eDiscovery matters, reviewing Discovery workflows and agency policy.
• Review: Conduct legal privilege and responsiveness reviews utilizing commercial electronic document review platforms and tools.
• Collaboration: Work alongside attorneys and IT support teams to ensure data is discoverable as new technologies are introduced to the enterprise.
• Research: Perform research to locate and gather material responsive to requests, including conducting outreach and informal interviews.
• Analysis: Analyze documents and media files, proficiently applying redactions to diverse types of privileged information and coordinating classification reviews.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Successful completion of a Paralegal Studies Certificate with core domain knowledge in Discovery/eDiscovery.
• Experience: TWO (2) or more years of paralegal experience, including Discovery/eDiscovery experience utilizing platforms such as Relativity, Everlaw, Arctera, Exterro, DISCO, Reveal, or Nextpoint, and performing privilege and other substantive reviews on litigation support projects.
• Skills: Ability to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD “TOP SECRET” security clearance, proficiency with eDiscovery review platforms, and conducting legal document reviews including privilege and responsiveness.
• Bonus: Bachelor’s degree in legal studies or related field, excellent oral and written communication skills, one or more years of progressively more responsible experience performing privilege and other substantive reviews on litigation support projects, two years of progressively more responsible experience reviewing electronic and paper materials for privilege on litigation support projects, working knowledge of eDiscovery review platforms to identify documents for responsive and privileged reviews including redaction, excellent computer skills in MS Office Suite Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), demonstrated working knowledge researching (e.g., Westlaw, Pacer) and drafting responses to interrogatories, excellent organizational skills, and ability to maintain accurate records.
