Deloitte Discovery Internship Job Description
The Deloitte Discovery Internship offers students an inside look at what it’s really like to work for a professional services organization. The program is open to all eligible students, with a particular emphasis on encouraging applications from diverse candidates.
Here’s what you can expect during the seven-week internship:
• Real-world experience: Interns are assigned to one or more client projects, where they will receive mentorship and support to help them succeed.
• Learning and networking: The internship offers a variety of national and local learning and networking events, including lunch and learns, industry/service line spotlights, and regularly scheduled training offerings.
• Skills development: The internship focuses on developing technical and client service skills, helping interns understand the ins and outs of a career at Deloitte.
• Professional network: Interns have the opportunity to build a cross-functional professional network by interacting with Deloitte professionals.
• Social events: Social activities are planned throughout the internship period to further encourage networking and collaboration.
The ideal intern candidate will:

The internship also provides:
• Mentorship: Each intern is assigned a mentorship team, including a counselor (typically a manager or senior manager) who offers career guidance and feedback, and an onboarding advisor (a peer-level “buddy”) who helps answer questions and provide insights into the internship experience.
• Goal setting and evaluation: A formal process throughout the internship helps track progress and measure performance.
• Potential for further opportunities: Depending on performance and other factors, Discovery interns may be eligible for a subsequent internship opportunity at Deloitte.
Required qualifications:
• College student with an anticipated graduation date of 2027
• Definitive plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
• CPA eligibility (for anticipated accounting majors), including the required credit hours to sit for the CPA exam upon graduation
• Strong academic performance with extracurricular activities
• Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of employment
Preferred qualifications:
• GPA of 3.2
• A proven history of collegiate level leadership, such as membership in a campus club or society, with a strong preference for affiliation with organizations committed to inclusion
• A proven history of collegiate philanthropic activity
