Job Description:
Springbrook is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join their team in Oneonta and Otego. New hires are eligible for a $1,500 sign-on bonus.
Position Overview:
As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide assistance to people receiving services in various aspects of their lives across educational, residential, and community environments. This includes supporting activities of daily living (ADLs) like personal care, promoting choice and independence, and providing protective oversight. You will ensure compliance with all Springbrook policies and state regulations to maintain a safe and smooth program operation. No two days are the same at Springbrook! You could be going shopping, playing basketball, helping make dinner, or going to an amusement park.
Key Responsibilities:
• Providing assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as personal care, meal preparation, and household chores.
• Supporting individuals in educational, residential, and community settings.
• Promoting choice, independence, and self-determination.
• Providing protective oversight and ensuring the safety of individuals.
• Demonstrating compliance with Springbrook policies and state regulations.
• Building relationships with people with disabilities.
• Driving company vehicles as required.
• Performing physical interventions.
Available Positions:
• Full-time and Part-time positions available
• Days, evenings, and overnights shifts
• Weekend shifts available
• Work with adults or children
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience working with people with developmental disabilities is preferred.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including mandatory overtime and overnights.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in or knowledge of using a variety of computer software and e-mail applications, especially Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word; have the aptitude to learn other computer software as necessary.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. independently and assist in lifting weights exceeding 50 lbs.
• Valid Driver’s License required
• Be able to perform all physical interventions.
Salary:
$20.00 – $22.00 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.
