Job Description – Digital Forensic Examiner:

Role: This position is for a highly skilled and motivated Digital Forensic Examiner to join Deloitte’s Government and Public Services (GPS) Discovery & Data Management Practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the laboratory’s quality program and contributing to Deloitte’s mission of helping clients efficiently respond to information requests.

Responsibilities:

Quality Program Support: Perform method validation and verification, including reviewing forensic tools. Conduct instrument maintenance and testing. Assist with the Proficiency Test Program. Support documentation and review of records for laboratory accreditation.
Digital Forensic Analysis and Research: Perform digital forensic analysis and research in accordance with laboratory policy and industry best practices. Conduct forensic analysis tasks such as recovering deleted files, decrypting password-protected data, and performing keyword searches. Collaborate with investigators to develop analysis plans that address investigative questions.
Database Extractions and Analysis: Extract evidence from various data sources, including proprietary pharmaceutical databases. Analyze and interpret data to provide accurate forensic results and reports. Query, extract, and report data from relational databases found on suspect media while maintaining data integrity. Recover and restore proprietary pharmaceutical databases from flat files or backups.
Reporting and Documentation: Write clear and concise technical reports and notes detailing forensic work. Conduct research and development to identify significant artifacts from emerging hardware and software technologies. Identify new methods of forensic data extraction and preservation.
Certification and Training: Possess a laboratory-approved industry certification in digital forensic analysis. Provide guidance and training on emerging technology and new techniques to forensic personnel.
Professional Engagement: Participate and represent the laboratory in professional organizations and working groups as needed.

Qualifications:

Required:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
• Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust Clearance
• Travel up to 25% throughout the US
• Ability to work 3 days weekly on client site
• 1+ years of direct digital forensic experience (2+ years highly preferred)
• 1+ years of experience in digital forensic analysis and research
• Active certification (EnCE, GCFE, IACIS, CFCE)
• Experience in database extractions and analysis
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently
• Valid driver’s license
Preferred:
• Experience with Cellebrite
