Job Description: Digital CRM Intern

This paid internship within AARP’s Digital CRM team offers a chance to work in the dynamic world of digital marketing. The team is responsible for deploying over 5 billion emails and 50 million SMS messages annually, utilizing advanced marketing technology. The intern will contribute to ensuring that AARP’s business partners deliver the right messages to the right audiences at the right time.

Responsibilities include a variety of tasks, utilizing agile methodologies and focusing on process improvement. Specific responsibilities are:

Embrace Agile Practices: Employing agile principles to enhance back-office processes for technology solutions.
Data Analysis: Analyzing data to create executive-level quarterly dashboards demonstrating marketing agency performance.
Issue Management: Handling and prioritizing consumer-reported issues, ensuring timely communication according to service level agreements.
Market Technology Research: Conducting stakeholder interviews to inform research on marketing technology platforms.
Create Guides: Developing “how-to guides” to document process improvements.
Digital Librarian: Acting as the team’s digital librarian, ensuring proper tagging and storage of documents for easy retrieval.
Audit Artifacts: Reviewing project artifacts to confirm they meet completion criteria before project closure.
Explore AI Solutions: Investigating the application of artificial intelligence to accelerate business processes and solve complex problems.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should be enrolled in a Business Technology or Digital Marketing Strategy program at an accredited college or university as a rising undergraduate junior, senior, or graduate student (or Ph.D. candidate). They must be a self-starter, adaptable, and able to manage multiple projects effectively. Experience working with virtual teams across multiple time zones is essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and a willingness to use technology. Familiarity with IT project management methodologies or AI use case piloting is a plus. AARP will not sponsor an employment visa for this position.

Compensation and Benefits:

Hourly rates range from $18 for undergraduates, $21 for graduate students, and $28 for Ph.D. candidates. The internship is a non-exempt position and does not include employee benefits. A hybrid work environment is offered, with Mondays and Fridays designated as remote workdays (within the US and its territories).
