Detailed Job Description: Digital Assurance and Transparency Intern/Trainee
This internship within PwC’s DAT practice offers an opportunity to contribute to evaluating internal controls and providing clients with insights into their business processes and technology. Interns work closely with clients, the DAT team, and external audit teams. The role is focused on understanding client systems and technologies and how to mitigate associated risks.
Responsibilities include:
• Participating in various phases of internal controls evaluation (planning, execution, completion) in support of external audits, specifically concerning information systems and business processes.
• Conducting controls and transaction testing.
• Performing readiness assessments.
• Providing observations and recommendations to clients, including those related to their use of emerging technologies (cloud, AI, cryptocurrencies).
• Reviewing finance, operations, and technology processes, including monitoring controls over third-party providers.
• Providing assurance over service organizations offering technology, emerging, and business functions across ecosystems.
• Collaborating across segments, sectors, and specialty teams on diverse projects.
• Driving innovation in end-to-end auditing through technology, prioritizing quality and value.
• Proactively seeking guidance, clarification, and feedback.
• Demonstrating flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks while maintaining professional skepticism.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (minimum GPA 3.0) in Accounting, Management Information Systems, Business Analytics, Finance & Technology, Computer and Information Science & Accounting, Computer and Information Science, Economics and Finance & Technology, Information Technology, Information Technology & Accounting, Management Information Systems & Accounting. 0 years of experience. Interns are typically in their 3rd year of a 4-year program or 4th year of a 5-year program.
• Preferred Qualifications: Client service intern experience. Progress toward or possession of relevant certifications (CPA, CISA).
• Preferred Knowledge/Skills: Understanding of risks affecting companies and management decision-making; complex IT environments; all aspects of auditing; desire for a public accounting career; basic understanding of application controls, IT general controls, financial reporting concepts, and the external audit process; problem-solving skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks; ability to interact effectively with various levels of management (written and verbal); flexibility and willingness to travel.
The internship is an entry-level position, and the salary range is $30.75 – $40.75 (with variations based on location and experience). PwC offers a comprehensive benefits package.
