Director of Nutrition Services | Outfield Healthcare Partners

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Outfield Healthcare Partners, an organization committed to delivering quality healthcare services. As the Director of Nutrition Services, you will lead the dietary department to provide safe, nutritionally appropriate food that enhances residents’ overall health. Your leadership ensures adherence to federal, state, and local regulations for food service and nutrition care. This position is critical for maintaining high standards of resident well-being through excellent nutrition services.

The TL;DR

• Team: Reports to Administrator; collaborates with Registered Dietitian, Dietetic Technician, Nursing Service, and other disciplines.
• Mission: Ensures the provision of quality food service and nutrition care for residents in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Tech Stack: DSSI, eKardex, Twenty-Four Hour Report (Daily Interdisciplinary Report)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Lead and manage the dietary department, ensuring efficient operations and supervision of all personnel and functions.
• Oversee daily nutrition service delivery, upholding food quality and safety standards while consistently meeting resident needs and regulatory compliance.
• Manage the departmental budget, including planning and purchasing food, supplements, and supplies through DSSI, and participating in financial reporting.
• Administer nutrition care to residents, collecting data, assessing progress, and documenting care plans under the Registered Dietitian’s direction.
• Facilitate communication regarding resident nutrition, preferences, and care plans with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team using specified communication systems.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Associate’s or higher degree in food service management or hospitality, including a course of study in food service or restaurant management from an accredited institution. Alternatively, certification as a Certified Dietary Manager, Certified Food Protection Professional (CDM, CFPP), or a Dietetic Technician, registered (DTR), or equivalent military or traditional education training.
• Experience: Required food service supervisory experience.
• Skills: Dietary department management, budget planning and control, nutrition care provision within scope of practice, regulatory compliance, interdisciplinary communication, and food procurement.
• Bonus: At least two years’ experience in long term care.
