About Company:

The Brennan Center for Justice at NYU School of Law is a nonpartisan law and policy institute that seeks to improve the systems of democracy and justice in the United States. Their work encompasses voting rights, campaign finance reform, ending mass incarceration, and preserving Constitutional protections in national security policies.

Job Description:

The Brennan Center is seeking a Development Intern to provide administrative and clerical support to the Development staff in their New York office. This is an in-person internship.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with administrative duties supporting the Center’s fundraising efforts, including:
• Conducting prospect research
• Assisting in donor correspondence
• Updating the fundraising database
• Assisting in event organization
• Preparing mailings to donors
• Supporting the individual giving and foundations teams
• Attend and observe substantive meetings, events, and conversations on program work.
• Provide general administrative, research, and clerical work for the Brennan Center, including:
• Filing
• Photocopying
• Answering phones
• Shipping and mailing
• Coordinating meetings
• Drafting routine correspondence
• Covering the reception desk

Qualifications:

• Independent self-starter
• Detail-oriented
• Energetic
• Punctual
• Highly organized
• Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills
• Passion for the Brennan Center’s issues
• Experience with Windows, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word (required)
• Database experience (helpful)
• Open to evolving responsibilities
Must be a current undergraduate student

Additional Information:

Hours: Approximately 10 – 20 hours per week
Pay: $17.50 per hour
Duration: September – December 2025
