About the Company:
Chick-fil-A’s in-house agency is responsible for producing a large volume of marketing assets across various channels. The agency aims to streamline creative and production processes to deliver high-quality assets efficiently and cost-effectively to its operators and staff. The agency operates under a “Flexible Future” model, blending in-person and virtual work to foster collaboration.
Job Description: Designer
This role is crucial for maintaining the creative excellence of Chick-fil-A’s in-house agency. The Designer will collaborate with the design and creative teams to develop innovative concepts that address the marketing challenges faced by operators and local markets. A strong understanding of typography and visual identity (VIS) is essential. The successful candidate will be a problem-solver, ensuring all work is clear, consistent with the brand, and optimized for the target audience.
Responsibilities are divided into four stages:
1. Concept Stage: Elevate & Execute Design:
• Champion creativity within the agency and marketing department.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions to develop creative strategies.
• Design and develop concepts (in collaboration with Art Directors/Creative Directors) for local markets, aligning with marketing objectives.
• Create stakeholder presentations to advocate for design concepts.
• Provide support for concept development, including comping and light retouching.
2. Production Stage: Produce Final Assets Preserving Creative Vision:
• Serve as a design expert for local marketing initiatives, possessing a thorough understanding of the brand’s VIS and production processes.
• Create customizable templates and files for the studio.
• Act as a creative liaison between the agency and external partners (retouchers/editors), ensuring asset alignment with concept decks and specifications.
• Design final assets from ideation to production, including basic retouching, versioning, and mock-ups.
• Ensure assets meet specifications for various media (print, social media, app, in-venue signage), including color space, resolution, and orientation.
• Review project layouts before production, checking for specifications, compatibility, and errors.
• Prepare images for production, adjusting color, size, and resolution.
3. Planning Stage: Support for Production Needs/Shoots:
• Collaborate with producers to determine shoot details and needs.
• Prepare for photoshoots by working with the Art Director and producer.
• Coordinate with stylists and talent managers on props, wardrobe, sets, and talent selection.
• Ensure all team members are briefed and prepared for shoot days.
4. Dispatch/Closing Stage: Details Oriented:
• Partner with the traffic team to organize assets for distribution to media partners.
• Save all working and final files on the agency server.
• Consult with the brand team to ensure consistent application of the VIS.
• Manage deadlines and expectations, adjusting based on client feedback.
• Continuously seek opportunities to push creative boundaries and improve the agency’s work.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects).
• 3-5 years of professional experience in advertising or a creative field.
• Photography experience is preferred.
• Highly motivated, creative, detail-oriented, and hands-on.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Capacity to constructively receive and implement feedback.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Design.
• 20% travel required.
