Job Description:
The Design Engineering Co-op position at Shur-Lok (Irvine, CA) offers an opportunity to support the business in areas of product development, product testing, and process improvements. The Co-op will analyze, interpret, and create technical data (engineering drawings, specifications, etc.) and contribute to the development of products, processes, and technical solutions. They will provide daily engineering support, assisting in the design and development of products and processes to meet business objectives. Responsibilities include:
• Utilizing engineering principles for product designs and process improvements.
• Collaborating with engineers to develop product features, tolerances, requirements, and specifications.
• Creating detailed 3D models and technical drawings using CAD software (SolidWorks).
• Taking ownership of assigned projects and ensuring their timely completion.
• Performing basic engineering analysis and conducting product testing.
• Participating in departmental meetings and training sessions.
• Analyzing and recommending process improvements throughout the manufacturing facility.
